The designation GTI (Gran Turismo Injection) Volkswagen appeared for the first time in 1976. Following the hugely successful introduction of the Jetta TDI diesel sedan in the U.S. market, Volkswagen is preparing to continue the Touareg TDI, which shares its engine with the Audi Q7 diesel previously announced. The Touareg TDI engine has a V-6 turbo diesel of 3.0 liters that generates 221 horsepower and a torque of 406 lbs / ft.That mountain of torque is available from 1750 rpm and takes the Touareg to 60 mph (96.5 kph) in 8.5 seconds one way electronically limited top speed of 130 mph (209 km / l). The total traction Touareg boasts strong figures on fuel consumption: 17 mpg (7.23 km / l) in the city and 25 mpg (10.63 km / l) on the road, according to Volkswagen.
